PADI Rescue Diver Course

Even though all your training is focused on safety during diving, dive accidents do happen. In the unfortunate event you are witnessing a diving accident, what do you do? It would be nice if you could do just a bit more than panic.
During this course you will learn how to prevent situations that might develop into a possible accident. In the case an accident happens, you will learn what to do.
This course consists of a theoretical and a practical part.
Before you can start with this course, you need to be certified as PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a comparable certification from another diving agency.

Theory

During the theory sessions you will learn more about the following subjects, which will be tested during your theory exam.

  • Psychology of rescuing
  • Being prepared for a diver in distress
  • How to deal with accidents
  • Responding to emergencies

And again PADI has the possibility that you can complete your theory sessions online. For what suits you  best, please contact us.

Practice

We start the course by repeating basic skills in order to increase your self-reliance. Just think about it: if you can’t take care of yourself, how can you help someone else in distress?
During the practice sessions you will be thought several rescue techniques. You can think of an exhausted diver, panicking diver, a not responding (unconscious) diver and several other options. These rescue exercises will become increasingly more difficult, until you are able to coordinate and execute a complete rescue scenario.
These rescue scenarios are almost always seen by students as one of the most invigorating and joyful parts of their trainings.
