PADI Open Water Course
Learn to Dive – Open Water Course
When you have finished this course, you will be able to plan and dive independently with your buddy. This, of course, within the limits of this course and your own experience. You will be able to dive, rent dive gear and get compressed air at most places by showing your certificate.
The course consists of 3 parts: theory, confined water training and open water diving. All parts should be completed, before you can get your certificate.
We start with a orienting session in which we get to know each other and discuss the scheme of the course. We check what dive gear you will need and whatever else is needed to make your diving pleasant.
Theory
Before we can go into the water, you need to learn about your equipment and the environment you are about to enter. This will be taught during the theory sessions. There are several options to complete your theory. We can teach in classroom sessions, you can do self-study or you can follow your theory online back home. We recommend the last option, which prevents you from sitting all day in a classroom, whilst you could have been diving. Please contact us and we can discuss the options. The theory will be tested by an exam.
Confined Water
Before you can plunge into the deep, you need to familiarize yourself with the necessary skills needed for scuba diving. This training is conducted just of the coast of our dive center on the sandy bottom near the sea grass.
Open Water Dives
Already after your first confined water session, your instructor may decide to make the first open water dive. During all four open water dives you will be trained to become an autonomous diver, as your certification card will state. During the open water dives you will have to demonstrate the skills you learned during your confined water sessions. But you will also be able to see your first fish and corals up close and personal!
After you completed your course, you can get more experienced by making one or more dives at our wonderful dive spots. We have very nice diving arrangements for if you have been infected by the diving virus.
